Stay & Play
Our after-school child care provision for pupils at Cavalry School and Cavalry Nursery
During the club session
Our Stay and Play is run by a team of staff members from Cavalry. Once the register has been completed, children are offered a drink and a small snack of toast. Then there are a range of activities, with board games, art activities, TV and toys to play with. In the summer months we often go outside for part of the time and play on the school field.
Charges
3.15 - 4.15 p.m. £4
3.15 - 5.15 p.m. £8
Anyone wishing to use Employer's child care vouchers (e.g. Fidelity, Edenred) is welcome to do so and should call at the office to speak to Mrs Harker.
If your child attends another club, such as Choir, Concert Band or Sports Club, for the first hour then transfers into after school club from 4.15 to 5.15 p.m, you will still be charged £8. This is because our staffing costs are not reduced when children make use of other clubs for the first hour.
Booking and paying for sessions
All sessions must be booked in advance on ParentPay and paid for at the same time. Bookings must be made before 2.30 p.m. on the day of use.
In exceptional circumstances, you may wish to book your child in to Stay & Play after 2.30 p.m.In order to do this, you must telephone the school office and we will take a cash payment when you collect your child. This should be reserved for genuine emergencies such as when your car breaks down, a work meeting overruns unexpectedly, or a hospital appointment is delayed.
If you have booked a session and suddenly find that you no longer need it, please inform the school office before 2.30 p.m. so that your child's name can be removed from the register. We are not able to offer a refund if you cancel a session with less than 24 hours notice because staffing ratios are calculated on the basis of places booked.
The sessions are scheduled to finish at 5.15p.m. If you collect your child after 5:15p.m, an additional charge of £6 per fifteen minutes may be made, which covers the costs of two members of staff working overtime.
If you cannot access ParentPay via your mobile phone, tablet or PC, a laptop computer is available in the school entrance area for the use of parents and the office staff are happy to help you to make your booking.
