Chair: Stacy Kowbas
Our AGM is on Monday 18th September at 5.15pm.

At our AGM we will review the work of the PTFA over the previous academic year, celebrate our successes and will look to our priorities for 2023-2024. We will elect the members of our PTFA committee for this year too. There are four roles that people can be voted onto the committee for. There is the Chair, who manages meetings, provides leadership for the committee and works closely with the Secretary and Treasurer. Then there is the Secretary, who will take notes in meetings, document minutes and provides admin support for the group. The Treasurer who will take responsibility for accounting, banking, purchasing, writing up a report for each meeting, liaising with staff before and after events and monitoring income and expenditure. Lastly we have co-opted members to support the trustees/ committee with various roles such as creating newsletters, updating the website, liaising with local businesses for support etc. If you would like to nominate a candidate or nominate yourself for a role please fill in the slip below and post in the box at reception or email to Cavalryptfa@gmail.com .
The number of co-opted committee members is determined by the number of people present at the AGM. If you are unable to attend many meetings, please do try to attend this one.
Our fundraising priorities for 2023-2024

After a successful year of fundraising in 2022 - 2023, seeing the outdoor classroom brought to life with an all-weather canopy, we set our goals on supporting the school with new, much needed, equipment to support the learning for our earl years pupils. After consultation with the early years staff and Mrs McCallum, it has been decided that we will purchase the equipment and resoures to create friendly spaces in the outdoors to promote challenge, communication, imagination and cooperation for all of Cavalry's Early Years pupils.
Below you will see photographs of some of the resources on the 'wish list' and photographs of the current playground/garden and where they would like the new resources to go. This is a long term project, Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will the Cavalry Early Years garden be! BUT, we will be supporting to turn this dream into a reality throughout the year. Why not come and support our PTFA and help with this exciting project?

 Fundraising priority for 2022-2023 - a review!

We were asked to support the development of the outdoor classroom by providing an all weather canopy to allow all pupils to be able to complete work in the nature area whatever the weather. We were delighted to see this completed in the summer term and it is now being used very regularly.

Thank you to all our Cavalry families for your ongoing support with our fundraising to allow us to support the school and make huge contributions to the education of our pupils which school budgets sadly can't stretch to in these difficult times.
The great outdoor classroom make-over started with clearing the pond and installing a new pond liner to prevent the leaks. A new fence was then erected around the pond to keep pupils safe and then the school set their sights on creating an all weather canopy over the outdoor classroom. The PTFA were asked to fund this canopy which we were delighted to support. This became our fundraising priority for 2022-2023.
Our Halloween discos saw a phenomenal 290 children in total attend our KS1 and KS2 discos. It was a lot of fun and there were some fabulous costumes! Thank you to all of the families who supported this event, the money raised will go towards the ongoing improvements to our outdoor classroom area.
We are on a high from yesterday's Cavalry Virtual London Marathon. Money raised will go towards a new canopy needed to cover our outdoor classroom, ensuring that all children can use this area all year round.
Our mini marathon runners were full of energy and as well as having a go at running on their own track, they were brilliant support around the field cheering Jason on.
Well done and thank you Jason for all you have done!
THE VIRTUAL LONDON MARATHON IS COMING TO CAVALRY!!!

Jason Bullman will be running the virtual London Marathon right here at Cavalry on the 2nd October! How exciting, you may be thinking... BUT we are the Cavalry family and we don't do things alone! So, here's how you can get involved. Come down, cheer him on, join in, eat cake and sponsor Jason! Gates open 10am and will stay open until he finishes (he will run faster the more support you can give him!).
